BIBS Insulation Installation Along the Northern Front Range
Blown-in blanket insulation offers superior energy efficiency and soundproofing. It is highly effective in both residential and commercial structures and the investment quickly pays for itself.
One of the best insulation types you can get for your home or commercial building is a blown-in blanket insulation system (BIBS). BIBS insulation is cost-effective, highly dependable, versatile, and environmentally friendly. It involves blowing specially-made fiberglass wool into walls, floors, ceilings, attics, and other spaces. The material is held in place by a proprietary netting. The experienced professionals at Insulation Pros of Colorado can help you to determine if blown-in blanket insulation is right for you.
Benefits of Blanket Insulation
The blow-in blanket system creates a tight seal around pipes, wires, and other obstructions, forming a seamless “blanket”. It offers lots of thermal protection and the highest R-value available. The BIBS insulation R-value can range from R-15 to R-56 depending on how thick the walls are. This type of insulation is popular because of its high density and the huge energy savings it can generate. It also helps to block out sound and it is naturally resistant to pests, fire, mold, and mildew. It’s not surprising that both homeowners and building contractors opt for BIBS.
BIBS Insulation vs Spray Foam and Fiberglass Batts
Blown-in fiberglass offers higher R-values than the usual fiberglass batt. It also offers fuller coverage. While the superior performance makes BIBS cost a little more to install, homeowners easily get a significant return on their investment. Still, BIBS insulation can sometimes be less costly than spray foam, and it’s ideal if your project is large or unconventional.

Derrick with Insulation Pros of Colorado came out to our home to provide a quote for service. He was very professional and after reviewing our needs, he recommended using a different product. I appreciate the fact that he could have have tried for the hard sell and given us service that didn't suit our needs, but chose not to. I asked him for a few business cards so I could hand them out if anyone asked for a referral.

finish. I was primarily concerned about acoustics and sound mitigation and they provided some great, practical advice about the trade-offs between the different materials and price/performance. They were very responsive to turning quotes and answers around quickly, and online (very modern for a contractor!). They even went the extra mile and installed some insulation around the bottom of the floating walls to provide extra fire blocking. They were super courteous and professional throughout the entire process - including cleaning up completely when the job was done. I'm very happy I went with Insulation Pros instead of having a dry wall contractor doing it. They do one thing, and they do it very well.

Understanding BIBS Insulation: What You Need to Know
BIBS insulation, or Blown-in Blanket System insulation, is a modern solution designed to enhance energy efficiency in residential and commercial buildings. This type of insulation involves the use of specially engineered fiberglass that is blown into walls and ceilings, creating a seamless barrier that minimizes air leaks and thermal bridging.
One of the key advantages of BIBS insulation is its ability to conform to irregular shapes and fill gaps around obstacles such as pipes and electrical wiring. This results in a more effective insulation solution compared to traditional batts, which can leave voids and reduce overall performance. Additionally, BIBS insulation is known for its soundproofing qualities, making it an ideal choice for homes in noisy environments.
Installation Process of BIBS Insulation
The installation of BIBS insulation is a quick and efficient process that is typically completed by trained professionals. The procedure begins with an assessment of the space to determine the appropriate amount of insulation needed, followed by the preparation of the area to ensure optimal results.
During installation, the fiberglass material is blown into the designated areas using specialized equipment, ensuring a snug fit that maximizes thermal performance. This method not only speeds up the installation time but also minimizes disruption to your home or business, allowing you to enjoy the benefits of improved insulation almost immediately.
Energy Savings with BIBS Insulation
Investing in BIBS insulation can lead to significant energy savings over time. By effectively sealing your home against air leaks, BIBS insulation helps maintain a consistent indoor temperature, reducing the need for excessive heating and cooling.
Frequently Asked Questions about BIBS Insulation
Many homeowners have questions regarding BIBS insulation, its effectiveness, and its suitability for their specific needs. Common inquiries include concerns about installation time, cost, and the longevity of the material.
Addressing these questions is crucial for potential customers. For instance, BIBS insulation is designed to last the lifetime of the building, and its installation can typically be completed within a day, depending on the size of the project. Understanding these details can help homeowners make informed decisions about their insulation needs.
